The Rugby World Cup is taking place in France this year, much to the delight of fans of the oval ball

Several matches will be taking place in our beautiful region of Provence, including two quarter-finals. Find out about our homes available throughout the competition

This year, France will be hosting its second Rugby World Cup. In 2007, France already hosted the most prestigious international men’s rugby competition. South Africa won the WEBB ELLIS Trophy against England. All fans of the oval ball are expected to attend from 8th September to 28th October. The first whistle will be blown on Friday 8th September at 9.15pm at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis. The French team will face the All Blacks of New Zealand in their first group match.

Matches in Provence: Marseille and Nice

The beautiful Provencal cities of Marseille and Nice will host several group matches during the competition. Two quarter-finals will also be held in Marseille.
Here is the list of matches for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in Provence:
Group matches :
  1. Saturday 9th September at 9pm at the Stade Orange Vélodrome in Marseille: England v Argentina.
  2. Sunday 10th September at 5.45pm at the Stade Orange Vélodrome in Marseille: South Africa v Scotland.
  3. Saturday 16th September at 5.45pm at the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice: Wales v Portugal.
  4. Sunday 17th September at 9pm at the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice: England v Japan.
  5. Wednesday 20th September at 9pm at the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice: Italy v Uruguay.
  6. Thursday 21st September at 9pm at the Orange Vélodrome stadium in Marseille: France v Namibia.
  7. Sunday 24th September at 9pm at the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice: Scotland v Tonga.
  8. Sunday 1st October at 9pm at the Orange Vélodrome stadium in Marseille: South Africa v Tonga.
The quarter-finals :
  1. Saturday 14th October at 5pm at the Stade Orange Vélodrome in Marseille: Quarter-final No. 1.
  2. Sunday 15th October at 5pm at the Stade Orange Vélodrome in Marseille: Quarter-final n°3.

A renowned chef behind the French team: Yves Camdeborde

The Chef Yves Camdeborde

What is certain is that Chef Yves Camdeborde will be a fervent supporter of the French Team. Originally from Pau in the Béarn region (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), he has lived in the Luberon region (Vaucluse) for several years now, and rugby is particularly important to him. Passionate about the oval ball from an early age, he is proud to be the Captain of the XV of Gastronomy, a team of 23 chefs committed to the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France. He and his team will be serving menus based on local produce from short distribution channels.
